With the holidays quickly approaching you may be looking for fun colors that give a hint of the season without the traditional red, white and dark greens. I love the new mint green trend. You typically see this color more during the summer for a shabby chic style wedding but I think its the perfect green for the winter season.
Mint is a great color for a winter wedding especially when paired with white and grey. When paired correctly your wedding will give the impression of an icy cool winter day without going over the top. I love blending mint, white and grey together because it is a more sophisticated and classy look. Mint with grey is great because mint can easily be washed out by darker colors like black. Use grey for larger fabric pieces such as the aisle runner, curtains and table cloths. Then bring in mint green accent pieces like crystals, flowers, chair covers and candles. The mint will really stand out and look gorgeous against the grey backdrop.
When choosing your floral pieces stay away from the darker colored flowers and stick with muted tones that won’t over power the mint accent colors throughout the rest of your event. I love large white peonies and roses. They are gorgeous flowers that will make a statement without drawing attention away from your mint theme. Your floral arrangement is also a great place to add a little sparkle. Crystal vases and draped crystals will give the impression of icicles and snow.
White is the traditional color for wedding dresses but I think it’s time to switch it up. Think about a beautiful light mint green wedding dress and grey suits for the guys. I love this look and the color is not so over the top that you might regret it when you look at your photos in twenty years.
