I design all types of weddings for a variety of brides, but hands down my favorite is a bling wedding. Big bling weddings are all about glamour, elegance and dazzling your guests with sparkling décor. Simply Elegant Event and Wedding Design is all about big bling, large floral pieces, grand centerpieces with draped crystals, beautiful embellishments and, amazing detail! I love bling weddings!
A big, bold, beautiful bling wedding can go one of two ways. It can turn out wonderfully, with the right amount of sparkle and elegance to wow anybody, or it can turn into a gaudy nightmare of cheap looking crystals, fabric and fake flowers. If you want a big bling wedding plan on spending a little extra for real flowers, nice crystals, and good linens. If it’s just not in your budget to do everything I definitely suggest splurging on real flowers. No matter how good silk flowers are nothing beats the look and smell of fresh flowers on your wedding day. Once you get those flowers drape them in crystals and place them along the ceremony aisle for a truly grand entrance. For a more unique look, add crystal brooches and jewels to the bride and bridesmaids bouquets. The crystal broaches will be around for years to come as keepsakes long after the flower are gone.
I love jewels, but there are other ways to add sparkle and elegance to your event. There are tons of new fabrics available that glitter and shine! Instead of using traditional chair covers opt for a fabric that glitters in the light or has a metallic finish that will shimmer when guests walk past. The same goes for table covers, but first a word of advice. When you’re designing a table, pick a focal point. If you’re going to have a grand, over-the-top centerpiece opt for neutrally colored linens that have a little bit of shimmer. This will balance out the look of the table and keep things from getting too gaudy. Finally, bring candles into the event space to create a natural sparkle. They will shine and light up all the beautiful gems hanging at your event. Because I love bling so much I will be posting more, so stay tuned!
